RIP Linda Christian

Linda Christian (November 13, 1923 – July 22, 2011) was a Mexican movie actress, who starred in films in Mexican cinema and in Hollywood. She played Mara in the last Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan film Tarzan and The Mermaids (1948). She is also noted for being the first Bond girl, appearing in a 1954 TV adaptation of the James Bond novel Casino Royale. Christian was so famous for her curvaceous figure that Life magazine dubbed her the "anatomic bomb."


Linda Christian is survived by her two daughters with Tyrone Power, of whom the eldest went on to become one half of the singing duo Al Bano & Romina Power, described as "the Sonny and Cher of Italy". She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
